The area surrounding Trevose Head, only a couple of miles from the historic fishing port of Padstow, has been designated as both an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and also an 'Area of Special Scientific Interest', which reflects the diverse and beautiful nature of this region.
The village of St. Merryn welcomes you with the announcement '7 Bays for 7 Days' and, fortunately for surfers, each of the 7 Bays offers a variety of breaks. Only 20 minutes away from the 'Surf City' of Newquay, the bays surrounding Trevose Head span nearly 2500 of the compass and offer an entirely different experience....

Surf History
It is generally accepted that Polynesians from Tahiti and Hawaii were the first to enjoy the sensation of gliding across the face of an unbroken sea wave, standing proud on wooden surfboards crafted from the timber of sacred trees. Fifteenth century 'Meles' (Hawaiian chants sung by elders and passed down generation to generation) record the surfing activities of the great Royal families and other dignitaries of even earlier times.
